Chaakoo Bombay Cafe

Cuisine indienne authentique Glasgow

The food at this restaurant was tasty, but the portion sizes were quite small for the price, making it feel a bit expensive. The price and quantity didn’t match my expectations. The place was also very crowded, and it felt congested, especially for a big group. If you're planning to visit with a large party, this might not be the best option. However, the food quality was good.

**Restaurant Review** I recently visited this restaurant and had a pleasant experience overall. While the portion sizes were on the smaller side, the quality of the food was excellent. Every dish was well-prepared, fresh, and full of flavor. The ambiance was cozy, and the service was courteous and prompt. If you're someone who prioritizes taste over quantity, this place is definitely worth a visit. However, if you're expecting generous portions, you might find it a bit lacking. Still, for the quality of food and the overall experience, I would recommend giving it a try!

The curry was a bland tasteless mush. The atmosphere is good though.

This was by far the worst Indian restaurant I've ever been to. Completely oversalted food. Burnt, dry flesh. Staff sometimes rude. Plus relatively high prices. Never again!

Went here for dinner and it was great! The food was super delicious, love the tapas concept as it allows you to try different things and the cocktails were also delicious Our favourite dishes were the butter chicken, lamb, garlic naan and paneer with pineapple Favourite drinks were the Chaitini and cocktail #1 Service was also very quick and friendly!

I visited Chaakoo City Centre for the first time on Sunday, 16th February, after making a reservation online. Unfortunately, my experience started on a negative note due to an unfriendly host who made me feel unwelcome. There was no warm greeting—just a dismissive instruction to “sit over there,” which set a poor tone for the evening. Thankfully, the waitstaff were much better, providing attentive and friendly service that helped improve the overall experience. The food itself was excellent, which I really appreciated. However, I wasn’t a fan of the automatic service charge being added to every table—I prefer to have the choice of how much to tip based on the service. Overall, great food and good service from the waitstaff, but the initial greeting and tipping policy left something to be desired.

I had fish pakora and paneer masala with a side of nan bread. I have to say it was the best nan bread I ever had!

Automatic 10% tipping/gratuity fee. I was not aware of that and I don’t appreciate it. Food was indeed tasty. Pricey for the small curry portions (and yes I know that’s the style). The “kebab” I ordered was four small pieces of meat (with sauce and some onions) for £8 which really didn’t seem worth it. Sounded better on the menu. Other minor complaints but those are the main. I can’t say I’d choose to come back.

I've been to Chaakoo a few times now and have always thoroughly enjoyed my meals here. The food is very flavoursome, you can pick spicy or creamy, whichever is your favourite. The plates are smaller than some Indians but the price is also less so you can order a couple of plates if you want, although as we were out for lunch one was enough. The cafe looks incredible, the staff are excellent and I will definitely be back.

Brilliant ambience and food, very authentic. The Kingfisher lager was not cool enough.... So, I'm back two years later in January 2025. We had the tapas menu for six, which was amazing! Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

Ordered the meal for 2 for delivery, usually reluctant to try somewhere new but I'm so glad I did because the food was incredible. The meat in the curries were cooked to perfection (both lamb and the chicken), so much flavour in every single dish plus amazing value for money. The saag paneer and tandoori wings deserve a special mention of their own because they were glorious!
